About Malca Voyages: The Vessel, Operator & This Site

Malca Voyages is a 30-metre VIP-class traditional wooden phinisi, built with iron wood and teak, that Komodo Luxury owns and operates from Labuan Bajo with its own in-house crew and maintenance. This site is a standalone information page published by Juara Holding Group; every reservation goes to Komodo Luxury’s team.

That is the short answer to “about Malca Voyages”. The rest of this page covers who stands behind the boat, how it is built, where every number here comes from, and what booking actually looks like.

Who owns and operates Malca Voyages?

Komodo Luxury does. According to Komodo Luxury’s official Malca Voyages page, read on 15 September 2026, the company owns and operates the vessel and keeps crew and maintenance in-house rather than subcontracting them.

Komodo Luxury is part of Juara Holding Group. Komodo Luxury was founded in 2015. It is headquartered in Denpasar, Bali, and its operations base is in Labuan Bajo, as listed on Komodo Luxury (checked 2026-09-16). Bookings are handled directly by its reservations team.

In practice, one company holds the hull, runs the crew and answers your booking message. No chain of resellers sits between you and the people on deck.

A plain disclosure: this site shares a parent group with the operator. It takes no bookings or payments and adds no agency margin. It exists so anyone searching for Malca Voyages finds sourced, dated details in one place, then reaches the right desk.

How is the boat built and equipped?

Malca Voyages follows the traditional wooden phinisi form of eastern Indonesia, with a hull of iron wood and teak, per Komodo Luxury. That hand-built structure is paired with modern navigation: radio, VHF and GPS, and Komodo Luxury’s description also mentions AIS mapping and dual radio.

What does a trip on Malca Voyages cost?

Komodo Luxury publishes two ways to sail: a shared 3D2N open trip priced per person by cabin, or a private whole-boat charter priced per package. Komodo Luxury last checked its rates on 11 September 2026 and quotes each rate on request for the specific cabin or package, departure date, duration, guest count and inclusions.

Rates for the other shared-trip cabins, and for the private 5D4N and 6D5N packages, are quoted on request for the specific cabin or package, departure date, duration and guest count. Shared trips leave twice a week: Friday to Sunday, and Monday to Wednesday. Komodo Luxury’s 2026 and 2027 tabs showed identical figures. The full breakdown is on our rates page, with day-by-day routes on the itinerary page.

Rates include the stay on board, meals, mineral water, coffee and tea, a guide, snorkel gear, life vests, raw drone, GoPro and mirrorless footage, and pick-up within the Labuan Bajo mainland near the harbour. Komodo National Park fees, the optional park drone permit, crew gratuities, flights, drinks, snacks and personal expenses are extra.

Where do the facts on this site come from?

Every vessel fact here is drawn from a single source, Komodo Luxury’s official Malca Voyages page. Five rules keep it honest:

  1. One source for vessel facts. Specifications, cabins, rates, inclusions and policies come only from that page. Nothing is estimated or borrowed from other boats.
  2. Date-stamped. Figures carry the date they were read, “as of September 2026”, so you can judge how fresh they are.
  3. Re-checked, not assumed. The source page is re-read and this site updated when Komodo Luxury changes it. Under its pricing terms, rates can change year to year.
  4. Deliberately left out. No crew names, no build year, no ratings, no award claims and no testimonials. Park fee amounts are not quoted either, because they follow government regulation at the time of your trip.
  5. The operator wins any conflict. If a figure here differs from Komodo Luxury’s page or a written quote from its team, the operator’s version applies. Older IDR listings on third-party sites are obsolete; ignore them.

How does booking Malca Voyages work?

  1. Send your request. Give Komodo Luxury your dates, shared cabin or private charter, and guest count.
  2. Get a reply. Komodo Luxury says its desk responds within 24 hours.
  3. Pay the deposit. A 50% deposit secures the booking. Booking a year ahead? Pay 30% first, then a further 20% at 120 days before departure.
  4. Settle the balance. It is due no later than 30 days before the trip. Book inside that window and full payment applies.
  5. Meet the boat. Pick-up runs 08:00–09:00 from your hotel or the airport on the Labuan Bajo mainland near the harbour, not from other islands or Manjaga.

Terms worth knowing before you pay: deposits are non-refundable, though you may nominate a replacement guest. Force majeure can change or cancel a trip without refund. Children aged 3 and over pay the full rate, and bank charges are borne by the sender. Destinations can shift with weather or field conditions, and guests follow the guide.

Getting there is simple enough. Labuan Bajo (LBJ) has direct flights from Bali, Jakarta and Surabaya, according to Komodo Luxury.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Malca Voyages sold through a broker or run by its own operator?

It is run by its own operator. Komodo Luxury owns and operates Malca Voyages, with in-house crew and maintenance, according to its official vessel page read on 15 September 2026. Reservations go straight to the Komodo Luxury team in Labuan Bajo, so no reseller sits between you and the company that runs the boat.

Is this website the official Komodo Luxury booking site?

No. This is an information site about Malca Voyages published by Juara Holding Group, the group Komodo Luxury belongs to. It does not accept bookings or payments. To reserve, contact Komodo Luxury on WhatsApp at +62 811 3823 875, email sales@komodoluxury.com, or use the Malca Voyages page on komodoluxury.com.

How up to date are the specs and prices on this site?

Vessel facts were read from Komodo Luxury’s Malca page on 15 September 2026, and Komodo Luxury notes its rates were checked on 11 September 2026. Treat every figure as valid as of September 2026 and subject to change. Rates can move from year to year, so confirm the current price in writing before paying a deposit.

Why are there no reviews, awards or crew names on this site?

This site only publishes what it can source and date-stamp from the operator’s own vessel page. Reviews, ratings, award claims, crew names and the build year are left out on purpose, so nothing here overstates the boat or goes stale. For more on the crew or the vessel’s history, ask Komodo Luxury’s reservations team directly.
