Two four-berth cabins, a triple and four doubles. Malca splits cleanly across families, which is why extended groups take the whole boat.

Malca suits family groups because its seven cabins split three ways: two sleep four, one sleeps three, and four sleep two. A private 3D2N for up to twelve guests costs USD 6,000 for the whole vessel.

- Children aged three and over pay the full rate, so they count toward your guest band. No rate is published for under-threes.
- Komodo Luxury publishes nothing about cots, babysitting or a children's menu. Ask before you pay rather than assuming.
- Day two is the demanding one: a 06:00 Padar climb and a dragon trek. Grandparents can stay aboard, but confirm that with the desk.

How a family splits the boat
Every cabin is en-suite and air-conditioned. Two of them sleep four, which is what makes the split work.

Seven cabins, nineteen berths. Komodo Luxury states a capacity of twenty-one guests, so a group of twenty or twenty-one should ask how the last places sleep before paying.

A thirteenth guest moves the whole booking into the higher band, so a family of thirteen can pay more in total than one of twelve. Count children aged three and over.

For a family of ten, a private 3D2N works out at USD 600 a head before park fees. Ask the desk to price the shared cabins for the same dates and compare — with six or fewer travellers, cabins are usually lighter.
Practicalities
What to bring, and what to ask
The right-hand column is the one that matters. Komodo Luxury publishes nothing on any of it.
Pack for the children
- Reef-safe sunscreen and hats; there is little shade on the treks
- Sturdy sandals for the Padar climb and the dragon trek
- A dry bag, a power bank and any personal medicine
- A light layer for the 06:00 starts
- Snorkel masks that fit small faces, if you have them
Ask the desk before paying
- Is there any rate for a child under three, and do they count toward the band?
- Are cots or bed rails available in the four-berth cabins?
- Is there a children's menu, or can the galley handle fussy eaters and allergies?
- Can grandparents stay aboard while the group climbs Padar?
- Are child-size life vests carried for the age of your youngest?

Three steps with children aboard
Send the ages in the first message. They decide the band and the cabin plan together.
