Most questions Malca Voyages guests ask are about booking rules, not the boat. A deposit secures your date. If you cancel, your payments are forfeited, though another guest can take your place. Park fees are billed on top, and pick-up covers the Labuan Bajo mainland only. The terms below are as of 16 September 2026.

How do I book Malca Voyages?
Which format should I ask for?
You can book Malca in two ways. The right one depends on your group size and whether you want the boat to yourselves.

What should I send the reservations desk?
Komodo Luxury’s reservation form asks for one lead contact and these details:
- Full name and email
- Total number of passengers
- Boat name (Malca Voyages)
- Date of travel
- Trip type: leisure, diving or a mix
- Destination: Labuan Bajo
Add each child’s age and, for a shared trip, the cabin you want. The desk checks availability first and sends an invoice. Your booking is secured once the deposit arrives.
Can I dive from Malca?
The form has a diving option, but diving is not on Malca’s list of inclusions. Snorkel gear is. If diving matters to you, say so when you first enquire and get the arrangement and cost in writing before you pay.
How do I confirm a payment?
Send your transfer receipt on WhatsApp to +62 811-3823-875. Komodo Luxury’s Customer Relations team then follows up on the reservation. Keep the invoice number with the receipt so the payment can be matched straight away.
What are the payment terms?
When the balance is due depends on how far ahead you book:

A private 3D2N Malca Voyages trip for 13-18 guests costs USD 6,700 per package (USD 6,000 for 1-12 guests), as listed on Komodo Luxury’s 2026/2027 private trip price table (checked 2026-09-16).
Komodo Luxury also says some boats in its fleet carry their own terms. Check that the schedule on your invoice matches the table above before you transfer.
Who pays the bank charges?
You do. The amount that reaches Komodo Luxury has to match the invoice exactly. Any shortfall from transfer or intermediary fees is yours to cover, so ask your bank to charge all fees to the sender.
Can the price change after it is published?
Yes. Komodo Luxury says its rates apply to the year they are issued in and may change each year. Prices can also move with fuel costs, extra routes or activities, and government rules. Get your final figure on the invoice.
Do children pay?
Children aged 3 and over pay the full rate. No price is published for children under 3, so ask the desk about infants before you pay a deposit.
What happens if plans change?
Komodo Luxury’s cancellation terms are strict. Read them before you pay:

What if my flight is delayed?
Flight cancellation is listed under force majeure. Komodo Luxury also says it is not liable for problems caused by tight travel schedules or by airlines losing or delaying baggage. The simplest protection is to land in Labuan Bajo the day before you sail.
Is travel insurance worth it?
Komodo Luxury’s terms don’t mention insurance. With no refunds for cancellation or force majeure, a policy that covers trip cancellation and delay is worth comparing before you pay the deposit. Read what it excludes. We are not insurance advisers, so check the cover with your provider.
What rules apply on board?
Komodo Luxury lists the following conduct terms:
- Follow the guide. Guests must follow the tour leader’s instructions for the whole trip. Leaving the agreed plan needs approval from boat management.
- Destinations can shift. Weather, sea conditions and force majeure can change any stop, including Padar, Pink Beach and Manta Point.
- Your belongings are your responsibility. Komodo Luxury is not liable if personal items are damaged or lost during the trip.
- Drones need a permit. The Komodo National Park drone permit is optional, not included, and must be requested at least 7 days before departure.
- Zero tolerance. Illegal drugs, or disturbing other guests, means removal with no refund.
What should I pack for Malca?
Komodo Luxury publishes a packing list. Here it is sorted by when you will need each item:

What should I budget on top of the package?
The package price does not include these:
- Komodo National Park fees, set by the government regulation in force when you travel
- The optional park drone permit
- Crew tips
- Flights to and from Labuan Bajo
- Drinks other than mineral water, coffee and tea
- Personal snacks and personal spending

How do I get to Labuan Bajo?
Fly into Labuan Bajo (LBJ). According to Komodo Luxury, these routes fly direct:

Hotel and airport pick-up only covers the Labuan Bajo mainland near the harbour. Hotels on other islands or in the Manjaga area are outside that zone. Komodo Luxury’s suggested hotels include Ayana Komodo, Plataran Komodo Resort, Sudamala Resort Labuan Bajo, La Prima Hotel, Bintang Flores and The Jayakarta.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is the last shared Malca departure published for 2027?
The latest 2027 dates on Komodo Luxury’s calendar are 27-29 December 2027 on the weekday schedule and 31 December 2027-2 January 2028 on the weekend schedule. That last weekend trip runs over New Year’s Eve, so check availability early. No 2028 calendar had been published when we checked on 16 September 2026.
Why does the itinerary say 09:00 when pick-up runs from 08:00?
The Day 1 plan shows a 09:00 pick-up. The booking notes for Malca Voyages give a window of 08:00 to 09:00 for hotel and airport pick-ups. Be packed and in the lobby by 08:00. The driver may come early in that hour, and the boat sails for Kelor Island at around 10:00.
If I cancel, can I move my payment to a later Malca trip?
No. Komodo Luxury’s terms say payments from a cancelling guest cannot be refunded, moved to another date or transferred to another trip. The only option is to name someone to take your place. Tell the desk the new guest’s details as early as you can so the manifest and invoice can be updated.
Will Komodo Luxury film me and use the footage?
Yes. Komodo Luxury films and photographs during the trip, with drone, GoPro and mirrorless cameras. By registering, every guest agrees to be recorded and lets Komodo Luxury use the footage in its promotion. You get the raw footage as part of the package. If you have privacy concerns, raise them with the desk before you pay the deposit.
What happens if I lose or damage a snorkel set or life jacket?
You pay for it. Komodo Luxury’s terms make guests responsible for loss of or damage to trip equipment such as life jackets, snorkels and masks. You are charged the full cost of replacing the item. Rinse and return gear after each stop, and use a dry bag for your own things, which the operator does not cover.
