A private 3D2N Malca Voyages trip for 13-18 guests costs USD 6,700 per package (USD 6,000 for 1-12 guests), as listed on Komodo Luxury’s 2026/2027 private trip price table (checked 2026-09-16). Guests above 18 are added at a per-guest rate the desk quotes with your dates, duration, guest count and inclusions. The route covers Kelor, Padar, Pink Beach, Komodo Island and Manta Point. Park fees are extra.
Three days and two nights is the length most guests choose on Malca Voyages, a 30-metre VIP phinisi operated by Komodo Luxury out of Labuan Bajo, with crew and maintenance handled in-house. Two nights leave room for Padar at dawn, Pink Beach, the Komodo dragons and Manta Point without rushing any of them.
This page covers one format only: the whole boat, chartered privately for three days. It sets out what your group pays and where the boat goes each day. Every rate comes from Komodo Luxury’s official Malca Voyages page, read on 15 September 2026; KL notes its rates were checked on 11 September 2026. If you want a single cabin on a fixed departure instead, cabin prices and dates sit on the Malca Voyages open trip page.
How much does a private Malca Voyages 3D2N charter cost?
The private package is a flat price for the vessel, set in three brackets. You pay for the boat, not per berth, so the price holds whether two people sail or twelve.
| Group size | Private 3D2N package |
|---|---|
| 1–12 guests | Quote on request |
| 13–18 guests | Quote on request |
| Each guest above 18 | Quote on request |
KL’s 2026 and 2027 tabs showed identical private figures. For 2D1N, 4D3N and longer charters, see the Malca Voyages rates page.
What does each guest pay as the group grows?
Divide the package by your head count and the per-person figure falls as the group grows, but the figure that counts is the one the reservations desk quotes for your dates, duration, guest count and inclusions.
- Twelve is the sweet spot of the first bracket. The package is the same whether two people sail or twelve, so a full first bracket is the lightest per head.
- The 13th guest moves you up a bracket. A group of 13 can therefore pay more per head than a group of 12, and the per-person figure only eases again as the second bracket fills.
- Above 18, each extra guest is added at a flat per-guest rate. Ask the desk to price your exact head count both ways before you decide.
On capacity, KL gives the boat’s limit as 21 guests, while its seven listed cabins add up to 19 berths. If your group is 20 or 21, ask the desk how the extra guests sleep before you pay.
Is the private charter the right format for your group?
It depends on how many of you are travelling and how much the date matters.
| Private 3D2N charter | |
|---|---|
| Dates | Your preferred date, subject to availability |
| On board | Jacuzzi, sunroof, indoor lounge and all seven cabins are your group’s alone |
| Cabins | Every cabin is air-conditioned with a private bathroom |
| Route | KL’s published day plan; raise changes with the desk before you confirm |
| Best suited to | Families, friend groups, celebrations and teams that want the boat to themselves |
For couples and small parties, a berth is usually the lighter spend. Berths are quoted per person by cabin type and the private charter is quoted per package, so which one works out lighter depends on your party size and on which cabins are still open on a given date. There is no reliable rule of thumb. Check the live cabin list on the open trip page or ask the desk to price both.
Where does the boat go on each of the three days?
Komodo Luxury publishes one day plan for the three-day trip. According to KL, destinations can change with weather, field conditions or force majeure, and guests follow the guide’s call on the day.
Day 1: Kelor, Manjarite and Kalong at dusk
- 08:00–09:00 — pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Labuan Bajo
- Morning — trek on Kelor Island
- Midday — lunch on board
- Afternoon — snorkelling at Manjarite
- Sunset — Kalong Island, where bats fly out at dusk; dinner on board
Day 2: Padar, Pink Beach, dragons and mantas
- 06:00 — Padar Island trek
- 08:15 — breakfast, then Pink Beach
- 10:00 — sail to Komodo Island
- 11:30 — Komodo dragon trek
- 12:30 — lunch, then sail to Manta Point
- 14:30 — snorkel at Manta Point (sightings are never guaranteed)
- 16:30 — Taka Makassar
- 17:30 — sunset, with dinner at 18:00
Day 3: Sebayur and the ride home
- 06:00 — sunrise breakfast
- 08:00 — snorkelling at Sebayur
- 09:30 — lunch and return to Labuan Bajo
Day 2 carries the weight: two treks, two snorkel stops and a sandbank between 06:00 and sunset. Pack reef-safe sunscreen and sturdy sandals for the Padar climb, and a light layer for the early start.
Force majeure: under KL’s terms it can change or cancel a trip without a refund, so check your travel insurance before paying.
What is included, and what costs extra?
| Included in the private package | Not included |
|---|---|
| Two nights on board, all meals, mineral water, coffee and tea | Komodo National Park fees, set by government regulation at the time of your trip |
| Guide, snorkel gear and life vests | Optional park drone permit, requested at least 7 days ahead |
| Raw drone, GoPro and mirrorless footage from the trip | Crew gratuities, flights and personal expenses |
| Pick-up and drop-off on the Labuan Bajo mainland near the harbour (not other islands or Manjaga) | Alcoholic drinks, soft drinks and personal snacks |
Budget the park fees on top of the package total for every guest. Because they follow the regulation in force on your travel date, confirm the current figure with the desk close to departure.
How do you book the private 3D2N charter?
- Settle your head count. It decides the bracket: 1–12, 13–18, or above 18 with a per-guest addition.
- Message the desk. Send your preferred date and guest count to Komodo Luxury on WhatsApp (+62 811 3823 875) or sales@komodoluxury.com. KL says the team replies within 24 hours.
- Pay the deposit. 50% secures the booking and the balance is due no later than 30 days before departure; inside 30 days, full payment applies. Booking a year ahead, KL takes 30% up front, a further 20% at 120 days and the balance at 30 days.
- Book flights to Labuan Bajo (LBJ). KL lists direct flights from Bali DPS (Garuda, AirAsia, Batik), Jakarta CGK (Garuda, AirAsia, Citilink, Batik) and Surabaya SUB (Batik, Super Air Jet).
- Be ready on Day 1. Pick-up runs between 08:00 and 09:00.
Which booking terms should you read before paying?
| Term | What KL’s page says |
|---|---|
| Deposit | Non-refundable |
| Cancellation | Forfeits payment; you may nominate a replacement guest |
| Children | Aged 3 and over pay the full rate, so they count toward your bracket |
| Bank charges | Paid by the sender |
| Equipment | Guests are liable for lost or damaged gear |
| Footage | KL records trips and may use the footage in its promotion |

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a private Malca Voyages 3D2N charter cost?
A private 3D2N Malca Voyages trip for 13-18 guests costs USD 6,700 per package (USD 6,000 for 1-12 guests), as listed on Komodo Luxury’s 2026/2027 private trip price table (checked 2026-09-16). Guests above 18 are added at a per-guest rate the desk quotes. Park fees are extra, and rates are subject to change.
Why does the per-person price rise at 13 guests?
Because the 13th guest moves the group into the second bracket, and the package steps up with it. A group of 13 therefore pays more per head than a full group of 12, and the per-person figure only eases again as the bracket fills. Ask the desk to quote your exact head count.
Are Komodo National Park fees included in the private package?
No. Komodo Luxury charges park fees according to the government regulation in force at the time of your trip, so the amount can move. The optional park drone permit is also extra and should be requested at least 7 days before departure.
How many guests can the private three-day charter take?
Komodo Luxury gives Malca Voyages a capacity of 21 guests. Its seven listed cabins add up to 19 berths, so a group of 20 or 21 should ask the reservations desk how the extra guests are accommodated before booking.
Do children count toward the group size?
Yes, from age 3. Under Komodo Luxury’s booking terms, children aged 3 and over pay the full rate, so they count as guests when working out which private bracket applies.
Can the route be changed on a private charter?
KL publishes one day plan and notes that destinations can change with weather, field conditions or force majeure, with guests following the guide’s call on the day. Raise any route preferences with the desk before you confirm and pay.
What if we only want one cabin, not the whole boat?
Then the private package is the wrong product. Per-person cabin rates and fixed departure dates are listed on the Malca Voyages open trip page, and the same Komodo Luxury desk handles those bookings.
